We usually email a hotel well in advance with some requests and preferences. Is this 48 hours notice likely to be a problem? Is it worth writing to the hotel in a few days, since they can probably find the reservation from room type and stay dates, even without a name?
It takes a day or two after reservation for the hotel to show up on my account but I don't think 48 hours before check in is common or routine.
