Sounds like a massive gamble to me.
Especially given that Kuwait just “mistakenly” took out three US fighter jets. Iran also took down a Ukrainian jet in 2020 also by “mistake.” It will kill off all traffic to and through the Gulf for quite some time if a rescue flight is struck. Seems quite reckless.
