Without know the actual numbers from the US headed to London, we won't know for sure. But my offhand experience with SFO-AMS-LHR and LHR-AMS-SFO is that there's a non-trivial number of people in the front cabin -- 4-5 is a pretty common number. And I think it's pretty well accepted that people prefer LHR over LGW -- if it wasn't, other US airlines wouldn't care about access.
Sadly, SFO-AMS-LCY doesn't work well, since it requires a near 4 hour layover in Amsterdam, killing any advantage of the Docklands. LCY-AMS-SFO doesn't work at all unless you don't need the last night in London and can overnight at AMS.
