I have successfully managed to avoid the 737 through a combinatoion of later flights and BA. Yesterday did LHR-EDI, GLA-LHR. The automated landing on the A320 up to EDI was absolutely terrible -- hit the ground with an almighty thump and the pilot had to apologise.
Came back on an A321: 8 of us in 11 rows of business class so I got my beloved seat 9A.
Final thing -- I have sent bmi a lengthy diatribe on the evils of the 737 and a request for financial compensation rather than points which I will never use. If bmi were clever they would pay me the money and hope it's an investment in keeping me with the brand. I somehow doubt they will be.
BTW, it now appears that people with an Individual Routepass CANNOT use the self service checkin. We're only bmi's most frequent fliers of course. Grrrr....
