I was not referring specifically to this storm was on the larger side, but more of a general observation that even 5 or 10 cm of snow brings YYZ down to a crawl. And that usually totally screws up YUL as a consequence.

Winter schedule block times are usually adjusted for deicing.

Also, this is not just my opinion: This is just one. From the Journal or Airport Management in an article: "Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau (Montréal-Trudeau), Canada's third-busiest airport, receives 220cm of snow a year on average, which is more than any other major airport in North America. Yet, in over 70 years of operation, the airport has never had to suspend operations for more than a few hours because of snow. This is made possible by employing state-of-the-art equipment and the application of a number of best practices that have made Montréal-Trudeau's winter operations a model for snowbound airports around the world."

When booking any flights I actively try and avoid YYZ, most especially November through March.
