I went to bed on New Year’s Eve at 3a after having driven my son’s future wife home at 1:30a. Then awake at 7:30 because I thought she was returning at 8… so I spent New Year’s Day at home watching Family Law and folding laundry while cold sober because I assumed that I’d drive her back home late night.

I finally exited the house at 8:20p to fetch carryout!

Dumpling Kitchen, noe valley, sf:

rice
mapo tofu
spicy fish with pickled cabbage

my wife had:
Shanghai noodles with green onion
sesame balls

ooh I like this wrong pie as well although it sounds like it had too much pizza.

I feel this way in general about blatant fusion food. It’s a great idea and it’s just not for me. For pizza I like the classic American pizza without bbq chicken, yet yes I like pineapple with it. I love Korean food and don’t want Kim chee on pizza - yet I’m sure it would be great. I prefer tomato sauce or pesto sauce or a white pizza - I don’t want my pizza to skip these classic choices and to instead have bbq or Russian or thousand island. I don’t want lamb or black beans on pizza. I’m so fussy. I don’t want Chinese food served with mashed potatoes or polenta or tortilla chips.
