Out of curiosity, why would you book through an OTA when there’s a good chance you won’t get your benefits or points?
If it’s a price difference and IHG won’t approve a BRG, I would just contact the hotel directly and ask them to match the price.
I use bookAAhotels a lot for AA status (Loyalty Points). I don't care about hotel points/benefits at this hotel because we can't get upgraded any more past what we book.
We come annually to this beautiful place.
Just like I always use Virtuoso for IC Barclays in NYC because they provide complimentary club lounge access.
