Even if the ES-30 doesn't turn out to be pure vaporware, AC has not only gotten out of the 19- (BEH) and 37-seat (DH1) markets, it's now out of the 50-seat (DH3/CRJ) market and pulling back in the 76/78-seat (CR9/E75/DH4) segment because the economics aren't good. Barring some massive government subsidy, operating a 30-seat aircraft with extremely high operating costs isn't going to be any better.
We'll know if it is serious or not if, in the next 12-15 months we hear about major maintenance and charging infrastructure investments in YVR and regional destinations.
