Whether or not that’s a blessing or curse depends entirely on one’s point of view. The “when everybody has elite status, nobody has elite status” paradigm is mostly hyperbole. Elite status will always have perks and benefits, maybe not as much as some of us would like and maybe not as much as previously, but being treated like an elite will always be better than being treated like steerage class.
