What was the date that you did the cancelation and rebooking?

The thread you linked on reddit does have DP of no clawback after canceling, but those were 2-3 months ago. There's just 1 that was a couple of days ago that wrote they had a clawback so it's still not clear. But maybe they closed the loophole of no clawback of the $250 when you cancel because people were not rebooking? So I'm assuming they take it back and then re-apply the $250 after you rebook. Just curious, what is your meter showing?
