I had a similar problem a few weeks ago flying LAX-ORD-ZRH on UA, and ZRH-FCO on LX. I couldn’t get the ZRH-FCO boarding pass online (within 24 hours of the LX flight, on either app, at the LAX check-in counter or the UC (Polaris lounge wasn’t open yet), or even via the app-based chat from my LAX-ORD flight. The app agent tried calling LX, and they claimed I’d have to get it from the transfer desk at ZRH. An agent at the ORD Polaris lounge was able to work magic and get it to print out.
