AA Basic Economy Cancellation fees vs WN fares
I fly in and connect in Dallas mostly , and so have mostly used WN ( Southwest ) for my bookings. Have very rarely booked AA. Because I travel for business, my plans change last minute and so with WN's fares, I can buy multiple basic tickets every week and if I need to cancel , I simply cancel and then the funds can be used later within 6 mon or 1 yr. Normally, when I fly AA, I take the extra room or first class seat. But was looking into the basic economy option as I am flying every week atleast once or twice and I need maximum flexibility. Didnt know that AA has a cancellation fee of $100. That kind of defeats the purpose Is that still the case ? Also, AA website doesnt make it particularly easy to find the info. And the AA app is probably the worst of the 4 big 4 US airlines - slow and buggy.
