Indeed, but as a SkyTeam evangelist on the SkyTeam forum pointed out to me when I raised this point (cos this was important issue for me too when CO only offered to comp. me Elite Gold), you get 100% mile bonus, plus guarenteed US upgrades. This he considered more than significant compensation, espec. for those who travel quite a bit in J and F anyway (which would give you lounge access of course). 100% on J/F, espec. after the Cabin Bonus is added, really does make the miles add up.
And for those of us who will get top tier (hopefully !) as QF WPs, 125% bonus plus lounges plus everything else really is just fab... that is if we ever fly SkyTeam to use them, as the posts above suggest many here won't !
