My Alpha 2 is now having this same problem where I can't retract the handle due to one of those silver buttons not releasing. The only workaround is to dig into the bottom of the case (very difficult when it's full!), find the button and push something small into it to release it. Tumi in both Australia and the US are out of stock of the telescoping handle replacement part (although they both claim it should be coming back into stock in a few weeks). Anyone else had this problem and know a way to fix it other than a replacement?
