Honey 1 BBQ

It had been awhile since I’ve had some BBQ, I looked in my 98 page word document of Chicago places to try, out of the BBQ places leaped Honey 1 BBQ.

Honey 1 is the typical take-out only, exchange $ and the food through bullet proof glass, not in a great neighborhood, type Chicago BBQ joint.

Only BBQ available on the menu are links, rib tips and ribs.

Links were ehh, so-so.

Ribs were good-very good

By far the best meat was the rib-tips. Deep smokey flavors and a sauce that has a heat quotient that builds up on you. Don’t get me wrong, it is not overly hot, after a few tips I noticed my lips were burning slightly, in a good way. Some of the best tips in Chicago.

Fries as with almost every single BBQ joint in Chicago sucked. For some reason these places can dole out the loving long-term care needed to smoke meats but some quick frying they can’t master. My guess is, they know one doesn’t come for the fries.
