That's not quite how it works. You could have gotten the seat before the no status passenger but chose not to. When I travel with my SO, we always book on separate PNRs. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't. Passengers in one PNR can't be in different cabins.
I don’t understand. How did I choose not to? If two seats were available, why did one go to my daughter and the other sat unclaimed instead of my wife and I both getting upgraded?
