Saying something to the effect of "I haven't called anybody yet, so sit back down now if you are standing up". It seems to be said in a rude and confrontational manner too usually. As if they have the right to decide if I decide to sit or stand at any given moment. Sorry, I am not a puppy-dog for you to order to sit or stand... Chill out and just do your job in a civil manner!
I won't condone rude behavior, but I can understand where they're coming from. I see a LOT of flights (especially at MCO) where as soon as they call the wheelchair people, the other passengers jump up and line up. Many of them are counting on it being a free-for-all, and their Zone 2 or Zone 3 tickets will board right alongside the platinum elites. It's nearly impossible for elites, people who paid for priority boarding (if anyone does), etc. to get up to the gate if dozens of people and their massive carryons are bunched up and standing in the walkway. So... yeah, I get it.
