That said, we got away with it once in the 50 times flying with an infant, the gate agent was trying to rebook us and was very late and forgot the infant ticket, when we landed on layover and try to board our next flight, someone was in big trouble!!
Lap infants do not need their own tickets on domestic U.S. flights; but the airline will still have them on the flight manifest. Two very different issues.
