1. Seems a weird case of cherry-picking a single example from an otherwise respected blog. As Brian mentions in the text below the image:
"The purpose of the weekly series of
Sunday Morning Photograph articles is to feature photographs from my travels around the world which you can view while enjoying your morning coffee."
The two articles sandwiching that one are quite a bit more extensive, especially
the trip report about his visit to Botswana.
2. Also, a bit amusing that you chose this specific thing to criticize when Brian himself wrote the post immediately preceding yours in this very thread.
Whatever you think of The Gate, it doesn't suffer from many of the things discussed in this thread.
