I'm debating between closing the CSR and opening a new CSP to get the bonus (I am well under 5/24 and haven't had a CSP since I got the CSR), or closing the CSR and switching to an Amex Gold.

I usually transfer UR points to United or Hyatt, but sometimes I buy travel through Chase's portal too. But I'm not wedded to United/Hyatt. If I went to MR, I'd probably just transfer to whatever airline I could find business class award availability on. I like transferring to Hyatt because it's often the lowest points needed for a room. CSP is I think 3x on dining and 2x on travel, while Amex Gold is 4x on dining and 3x on flights but 2x on prepaid hotels. It seems the Amex is better (since travel and dining is a lot of what we spend on). I am also a little concerned that Amex isn't as widely taken overseas, the couple times a year we go somewhere international.

I guess I'm just curious what people thing/other things I should be considering. Oh, I have a CFU as well, which I can use to store any points that might get left over.

Thanks
both cards have different benefits (credits) and AFs which you must take into consideration. also there are other potential alternatives like amex green, citi strata premier, and even wf autograph * autography journey. VX can also be a good add on if you want lounge access. citi strata premier is also interesting because it can be paired with citi custom cash that can give you 5x for dining

For example, Sapphire Reserve's $300 Travel Credit may or may not be eliminated. A higher annual fee may or may not apply on your next renewal date. Chase likely will offer retention bonuses to keep existing Reserve cardholders. It's not too soon to explore alternatives, but I think it is premature to make a decision.
they havent, but they put up a page (which has since been removed) which suggests that the rumors are true. but i agree not to make any changes until chase announces
