I've experienced full Pre-Check at Terminal D before. Yesterday afternoon - a typical weekday at 4:30 - there was no Pre-Check, just the "hybrid" where you get a colored laminated sheet but are forced in to the non-Pre security lines. The colored pass allows one to keep shoes and belt on and use the magnetometer, but one still has to unpack one's carry-on. Seems like these hybrid pre-check lines vary between airports, always adding confusion. This time my experience was accentuated by a TSA tender at the x-ray conveyor droning on and on, repeating monotonously the instructions in an indecipherable manner.
