Having been persuaded to have the Lamb as a main I chose the chicken 65 to start. I was worried about the ‘very hot’ comment in the menu but bravery (or lunacy) won out. Sometimes in Birmingham spice levels can reach the truly volcanic!
The presentation was a surprise, the chicken stood alone, no salad on the side, no dips, no frippery. It turns out it needed no such diversions. The heat was definitely there, at the end of the dish there was some brow leakage, but the spice was not overwhelming. The depth of flavour they had imbued these little pieces of chicken with was terrific, absolutely delicious starter and not overly filling
