Modern drunk dialing, to enlighten those who've achieved a certain age and/or level of personal-life stability, is the invariably poor decision, generally made hours after one should have gone to sleep, to thumb through your cellphone directory in search of the lucky person who needs to receive an incoherent account of your evening misadventures, view of the world, or current personal issues. Drunk dialers reach out and touch all sorts of folks, from friends to parents to bosses, but the classic bad drunk-dial, like the classic bad most anything, is a call to a former significant other when one has a few things to get off one's chest.
