Possibly do this do with the Marriott res also, by contacting Marriott and asking them to put your request in the notes with the MGM confirmation number for the second room.
Probably wouldn't hurt to call on check-in morning as well and ask the MGM res agent to reconfirm requests in the notes.
Thanks for the reply. I reached an MGM res agent who was able to combine both rooms on the same reservation. I think the first agent just didn’t know how. I then checked in on the MGM app, and by the time we reached the hotel there had been connecting rooms assigned and numbers visible.
