Spent a week in India and bought esims on Airalo for wife & kids. The app doesn't work in India if you are using Indian wifi or a hotspot from an Indian phone. So buy the esim before landing in India. I didn't remember to do that so I switched on a hotspot on my German phone and bought the esim for them on their phone while waiting in the immigration line. Airalo uses Jio in India so service was lightning fast thruout. My dear children are tiktok addicts so the data was used up double quick.
