I have been able to call and combine an ETC, add to that a FFC and a RFC. Interestingly, using a small part on ETC and then taking a large RFC is now handled in the agents automatic payment process and in the end an ETC with the expiry date of the RFC is issued for the balance.
RFC = Residual Flight Credit (mentioned in United PassPlus agreement)
