Be sure to read any terms and conditions very carefully.
I recommend contacting Emirates and getting written confirmation (e.g., via their chat facility) that any promotion applies to the flights you plan to book.
I recently encountered an issue with a promotional email stating:
"Register and book by 4 February 2025 to earn double Tier Miles on all your flights until 30 November 2025."
Given the number of points at stake, I (believed I had) thoroughly read the terms and conditions. I booked a First Flex return flight from Christchurch to New Zealand on 3 February, flew out on 11 February, and returned on 19 February. This should have earned me approximately 60,000 bonus Tier Miles.
After not receiving the bonus miles, I contacted Emirates and was informed that I wasn’t eligible for bonus Tier Miles on either leg because my outbound flight took place before 15 February. However, there was no mention of this date in the promotional email.
Emirates has yet to provide me with the applicable terms and conditions, but I found those from a previous double Tier Miles promotion. When interpreting them in the context of my situation, it’s clear that they leave a lot open to interpretation. They even include a clause to say the award of Bonus Miles is at the discretion of Emirates Skywards. I no longer trust their promotions.
