The issue is that we can retroclaim anyways. The formalisation of the mechanism shouldn't come at the expense of the pitiful amount of additional benefits.
But I do agree the 1600 coupons are useless. I have no motivation to hit 1600. The I to F is effectively gone with only 3 destinations getting F, two of whom I don't fly to from HKG. I'd rather do a cheap Outport E fare than pay extra to buy R.
