Yes, the pool is south facing. However, the pool is not private at all. It's outside from the main breakfast/lunch/dinner restaurant on the lobby level with huge glass doors looking out onto the patio/pool area. But it is south facing and it does get a ton of sun.
The hotel overall is nice enough for a stay. But you aren't on the coast so you will need to Uber or drive to the beach if you're looking to dip your toes in the ocean.

Looks like from reviews on Tripadvisor, Titanium Elites get access to beach chairs at the Ritz...neither of us are big on the beach, but it might be a nice change of pace. The rate here is $455/night in late Feb, vs. nearly $700++ to see the water.
If there are better hotels with pool areas I'm all ears, but from what I can find, it seems like this is one of the better ones and in a good location.
