Really what they mean is "less delayed", in that they shaved 20 minutes off the delay.
Perhaps "less delayed" is so uncommon for AC that it's not in their list of notifications.
Ironically, my UA texts today said exactly that:
1) Delayed till 4:30pm due to late crew.
2) "less delayed, now departing 4:20pm"
