Coors was once a regional western beer and when relatives would visit from parts east, they'd have to go get themselves some Coors. I probably tasted it first when I was a single digit age and my opinion of it never changed - but it was a thing to do when traveling west. In N Out is the same thing - like a cult pilgrimage, although tastier, and can make for a nice layover activity near LAX or SFO.
As a Midshipman First Class returning to Annapolis after our winter break, I brought back four six-packs of Coors in a seabag. One can somehow opened enroute to BAL (as BWI was called in those days), but the other 23 cans were popular at our monthly First Class (senior) dinner with the USNA 32nd Company Officer.
