) Meanwhile, In N Out reminds me of Coors when I was growing up. (Now, you're thinking, where could EB1K possibly be going with this?) Coors was once a regional western beer and when relatives would visit from parts east, they'd have to go get themselves some Coors. I probably tasted it first when I was a single digit age and my opinion of it never changed - but it was a thing to do when traveling west. In N Out is the same thing - like a cult pilgrimage, although tastier, and can make for a nice layover activity near LAX or SFO. I doubt you'll ever see "runs" to Shake Shack as an airport layover activity.
I ran to Shake Shack in the Singapore Changi Airport Jewel as an airport layover activity, so YMMV...
