November 2024 - BA246 Sao Paulo to London Heathrow. Departure time: 16:20

After enduring supper-gate on the outbound (photos posted in the brunch/supper thread), it was time for the return back to London, which had a departure time of 16:20 and therefore offered the full meal dinner and breakfast service, even though the flight time was slightly shorter than the outbound with the reduced supper service...

Starter of cured ham:

Main course of cobia (a type of white fish) - it tasted better than it looked, but there was no texture in the dish as everything and soft and mushy...

Dessert of coconut blondie - did they run out and try to quarter it to create four servings out of one?! Or is the chocolate sauce the actual dessert?!

Zoomed out view to get some perspective of the size of the cake

Breakfast was actually fine. I was going to the arrival lounge for a proper breakfast after landing, so I decided to try out the pancakes

In summary, having had both the reduced supper service and the normal full meal service on this return trip, I would personally prefer a mediocre full meal service than a good but reduced meal service (not that I would rate my supper as good!). Maybe this means I value quantity over quality (is it too hard to get both?). It is very sad to see British Airways go down this route with their brunch/supper service and in the future, I would definitely consider flying more with the likes of QR and CX. However, the crew were excellent on both legs - efficient and engaging.
