If planning to do this in the first half of this year, may I recommend you swap SYD and BNE in that routing. BNE-LAX is operated by a 2-class 747-400, while SYD-LAX is operated by 3-class 747-400. The 3-class has the Skybeds installed now, while the 2-class aircraft will commence their skybed uprades slowly for completion by the end of 2005. And Skybed is a lot more comfortable than the old Dreamtime seats on the current 2-class config.

Also note that if you can do SYD-JFK on QF107 (transit in LAX), then you get Skybeds all the way through and QF international business class service all the way through, which may be better than an AA 757 LAX-BOS even in First. But of course you still need to get back to BOS from JFK.
