I definitely wanted to have a good snorkeling experience this time, so I booked a tour with Island Tour Center. The price was $80 per person plus a $5 non-refundable booking fee. They shouldn't give it back under any circumstances. Then, the day before the tour, I got this message.

I see! So you offer a lot of tours and if you don't have enough people you cancel and still collect $5 per person. That's a business model, of course. In Germany, something like that would definitely be inadmissible or ineffective. Whether it is admissible in Bermuda remains to be seen, but who would sue for $10 in Bermuda?
Fortunately, the alternative tour suited us, so we rebooked.
If you didn't need a taxi, there were at least three waiting in front of the hotel. Today, however, none came for ages. We barely found a car and for around $30 we went to Flat Dock. The pier is located opposite the aquarium in a beautiful bay. Our boat was already there.

After a while, the captain came and explained that the boat was broken. They couldn't go. At least they gave us back the full price plus the booking fee. Still, it was kind of annoying. At least we were then able to visit the aquarium across the way, so the more than $60 for the taxi wasn't completely wasted.
