We have been there this Autumn and we found it very good for hiking. If you book a longer stay (I think 3/4 nights or more) then you can book "Rest and Reset" rate which includes cable car pass. It is cheapest rate if you book a longer stay and it is refundable until 7 days before arrival and includes breakfast.
And how did you find the hotel, the service, the rooms? The photos look pretty good. However, some reviews mention that the hotel is a little bit dated and in reality not as good as the pictures on the homepage.
