Do 24 hours and 40 minutes count as a HKG stopover?

Hello,

As part of my upcoming LONE5, I'd hoped to book DPS-x/HKG-x/HEL-GOT. Unfortunately CX784 arrives HKG at 2045, and AY92 leaves at 2125-- ten minutes less than the official minimum connecting time. Whether or not I'd be able to physically make the AY flight is a bit beside the point, as QF refuses to reserve these two flights on the same day.

My question, then, is whether or not the 24h40 that I'll spend in Hong Kong will count as a stopover, and thus oblige me to pay the HKG tax? As the AY flight is the first available flight, do I have a case that this should really be considered a transit?

Thanks for the advice.
