This is most definitely not a horrible property. For the price point, I thought it was great. I lived in NYC (Manhattan) for ~25 years so used to city living and I never felt unsafe day or night. I walked with a purpose and knew where I was going. I thought it was fine. And, as others have noted, if you don't want to walk around, just Uber everywhere.
