I was wondering this too, about to post a similar question. It's not a huge deal to park in some other terminal and take the skylink, but unless something changed I don't know how they would even track which terminal you park at. There is no check-in at each terminal parking, it's just a single gate for the entire airport. Unless someone is going around scanning license plates, but have never seen that.
FWIW, I actually ended up calling the DFW parking customer service. They confirmed that they actually have no way of knowing where you park. So, no harm in parking somewhere other than where you purchased. I also asked why the pre-pay parking has been so messed up lately. I was told that with the construction going on, it’s really impacting their ability to sell pre-pay parking.
I’ll say, though, I had to park in terminal C last Wednesday. I ended up having to park on the roof because there was basically no other place to park. I’ll be avoiding C from now on….
