Do married segments happen across airlines? I have the following booked:
YOW-YYZ (AC)
YYZ-IAH (AC)
IAH - DXB (EK)
I wanted to drop the first leg and depart out of YYZ, but the agent is saying those 3 segments are now married. I could have understood the first two AC segment being married ( and there's current availability to re-book), but am surprised it would marry with the EK leg. I had booked those first two AC legs at a later date then the EK leg.
Makes it difficult to book your positioning flights until you're 100% certain...
Can't answer the married segment portion of the question, but on this itinerary you're potentially looking at a massive repricing of the award since both EK and AC use dynamic pricing. Look up YYZ-IAH-DXB using the points option to get an idea of what you're in for.
