For us it was absolutely worth the points as the cash rate was a little high and I prefer to use points in Mexico to avoid all of the high fees and taxes that inevitably get tacked on. Using points in Mexico also keeps the potential currency conversion shenanigans to a minimum (not that it was an issue here). They never did send me my invoice as prompted but since it was just f&b on my bill I am less fussed. If you go I hope you enjoy!
