Cathay has taken the A330 off the route, presumably due to high demand. They will fly the 777-300 usually, but have scheduled some A350-1000 flights for the first a few Mondays and Thursdays during August (5th, 8th, 12th, 15th, 19th, 22nd). It looks like there are no A330 flights in August unless there is an equipment swap, which doesn't seem too likely on a route where they have upgauged equipment at fairly short notice. Just book the 35K, it's much better than the regional 777s. Quick warning, CX is known for its equipment swaps on regional routes, but I have a feeling that this is the schedule they will stick with. I don't know about varying prices, but trying to book using an incognito tab might help.

I was actually looking into our first proper family holiday in several years and eyeing DPS.
Ended up fixing departure date to 22nd to snag PEY on the A35K.
Of course, this will likely make Y on the return on a crowded 777 feel worse...
