Getting a runaround when calling as well. Barclays phone number printed on card said to call Wyndham rewards, which makes zero sense. I called Wyndham rewards just for ..... and of they of course said that they can't add my rewards number to Barclays issued credit card. Called Barclays again, asking them to link my rewards number. They again said to call Wyndham number but when I pushed the response was it takes 30 days for Wyndham to verify membership number. None of this makes any sense to me.
Any suggestions?
The Indian call centre that you get when you call the number on the back of the card is useless. They just play with you, put on hold, transfer to manager who is probably sitting in the cubicle nearby, ask for random information and never resolve any issues. They will always point to someone else for problem, in this case they tell to call Wyndham.
I opened complaint with CFPB a few days ago at midnight. The following morning I got a call from Barclays executive office and this member id issue was resolved in a matter of 2 days. Shout out to Eduardo from executive office.
Next thing I tried to do a large purchase online (gotta meet that min spend) and got VISA Secure verification error. Obviously this is a fraud alert. Again, calling the India customer support is useless. They ask some random info, like your address, CVC code, last 4, etc. Then they "refresh the card", yes, you can't make this stuff up. And because they know that they are just BS-ing you they tell you to retry the transaction not immediately but after an hour, so they can get rid of you. That or they blame the merchant for refusing the transaction. Nothing that I did transaction with this same merchant a month ago without issues, or that I tried card from different issuer right now and it worked no problem.
