Just like BR and CI aren't sharing their SE Asia network with DL, DL is keeping all of its midsized US markets to itself (e.g. CI and BR sell SLC-TPE, but the US segment is unlikely to be on Delta unless other options are sold out). Meanwhile, JX has that AS partnership, which theoretically gives it reach beyond Seattle, though I haven't noticed any meaningful efforts to leverage that relationship yet. Furthermore, AS has been continuing to feed traffic to BR and CI.
I would love for Starlux to become the Taiwan based OneWorld member. Hopefully the AS partnership is a start to that. But having flown them LAX-TPE in May with an extremely light load I'm afraid will be more focused on surviving in the near term.
