I think this is yet another case of someone not knowing what they're talking about. SDC is a function of DCS - essentially, the day-of-travel computer system. Reservations agents don't have access to it at all, and I doubt the people at the companion pass desk do either. Agents at the airport have DCS access, as do concierges at the call centre.
Yeah I figured folks here would know more than reservations desk
I was thinking it was a glitch regarding companion pass being considered a method of payment and then when using credit card to pay sdc fee caused bug, thought there was something similar discussed re using credit card + ac wallet. I wonder if it would have worked if I had chosen a free sdc fare class (booked flex), because everything worked until then
