Yes. But if you are suggesting you may have a short time between flights you may also wish to check in online when that opens. And if you are arriving on a QR flight, ask at your origin if they can issue your boarding pass.
Bear in mind also that if your inbound flight is delayed, your onward travel may not be protected if it is on a separate separate ticket.
Can QR link the individual PNR in their computer. I assume they cant combine them (most airlines don't) but it can sometime help logistics and coordinated changes if an airline has them linked in the computer.
Edit: I guess the real question is: is it worth calling and asking?
