I thought the Novotel in Avignon was especially nice. Although there isnt MUCH variation in room types having a suite with a balcony gave the hotel a real Resort feel. The pool was a nice bonus. Its a little way out from town whilst the Central Mercure is right in the centre. in fact the underground carpark under the square leads straight to it. Both are excellent hotels and both great choices for Avignon
