If the wife intends on getting a new passport in her married name, she must update her Trusted Traveler information so that her name there matches the that on her new passport. Also, the name on any airline tickets should match that in her passport and Trusted Traveler profile, so that she continues to receive Trusted Traveler benefits. A name change can only be done at an enrollment center, not online, no appointment is needed. While there, she can inquire if her new husband is required to update his marital status.

Thank you. From what I gather the sequence is this:
1. Get certified copy of marriage certificate
2. Get new Social Security card with new name
3. Get new passport with new name
4. Update GOES profile.
Prior to Step 3, the wife should travel in her maiden name.
After Step 4, the wife should travel in her married name.
Between steps 3 and 4 she cannot travel as she will have no passport.
Is this correct?
