We did this and had a nice day --whether it's worth it is dependent on what you're in to and how much time you have. I think it's ideal if you're looking to have a more calm/relaxing day. It's lower on the "interesting" or "educational" metrics, but it was high on "relaxing" and "peaceful." It took us about an hour from Siem Reap to drive to Kampong Khleang. The town is built on stilts as the lake rises ~10 meters during monsoon season. We then caught a boat that drove us into the lake where we stopped the motor and just enjoyed the beauty. The entire time on the boat was about 2 hours. We didn't walk around the town, but you could if you wanted.
