Yes, take care of the important things first. But then acknowedge; not even necessarily say thank you, but at least let us know you have read the post, that's all.
After the important issues are taken care of, a Thank You is warranted and certainly the proper means of showing appreciation for assistance.
cowtowner did this in post #12 and in just less than 6 days. I know that there are times when I might be off the computer (internet) for a week or so, rarely over this. Therefore, I would not take offense until a couple of weeks pass. Then if no thankful response is given, I might be slightly offended and not be so quick to offer advise in the future.
Maybe this was a timing issue and now water under the bridge.
